I’ve lived here most of my life and can tell you that there would have been no way for you to move fast enough if he wanted to eat you. 13-15 feet is big enough to eat a person. I am from Florida and I’ve seen a million gators. This is a huge gator! Being from Florida, I can tell you from my experience I wouldn’t be laying on the ground with my telephoto lens. In fact, I wouldn’t even be that close. The only reason that gator looks sluggish is because he has just eaten. Maybe a calf or a wild hog. But if that gator gets hungry or mad, he can normally run faster than you think!
